Tokyo Views – Farewell to the cherry blossoms

A weather system came in today with wind and rain. The cherry blossoms were already starting to fall, and with the weather coming in it seemed that the time was right to go out for a final peak viewing. I selected the Yanaka Cemetery just north of Ueno Park as a fitting site to bid farewell to an incredible display of renewal. I was a little late; the rain had begun and while walking through the drifting petals it was unclear if the umbrellas were for the rain or the blossom.
