Tokyo Views – Found items

One of the interesting things I found about Tokyo was the way that in the midst of an incredibly busy city the odd lost and found items managed to be salvaged, at least for a while. It’s the kind of “lost glove on a tree” mechanism usually found at secluded trail heads, not the “kick it aside” mentality I am used to from many other cities. Aside from a few unfortunate incidents with wallets or credit cards in Roppongi, everyone I know who has misplaced something in Tokyo was able to find it intact a day or two later more or less where they left it.

For those who see an item the act of picking it up and placing it in view feels like helping, for those who have lost items being able to retrace steps and find it is a relief, and for the rest of us it is a gallery of the items of everyday.
